Online Blackjack Rules & Basic Strategy
Blackjack is one of the most popular games online. Anyone can learn the basic rules in no time at all. This game is very popular because it involves quite a lot of skill, and a fair amount of luck too. The objective in blackjack is to get a better hand than the dealer. Many people think that the point of the game is to get to 21, but actually all you need to do to win is beat the dealer’s hand. Face cards are worth 10, and an ace can either be one or 11. All the other cards represent their face value. When the cards are first dealt, everyone gets two to start. The dealer also gets two cards. The dealer shows one of his cards face down, and one face up. You only get to see the dealers face down card once all the play had been concluded. You can choose to either hit and get another card, or stand if you are satisfied with your hand.
How To Win By Using Basic Strategy
With the rules out of the way, let’s discuss how you can have the best chance of winning. By using this basic blackjack strategy, you will have all the information you need to make the best choices in every situation. One thing to keep in mind before using any strategy, is how many decks are in use. Strategies can vary based on how many decks are in play. First we will look at the basic rules of when you should stand. If the dealer is showing a six or less, and you’ve got a 12 you should stand. Another situation where a stand is the best play is when the dealer is showing a 7 or more, and you already have 17 or higher.
Going Over the Hit Split and Double Down
When to hit is easy. If you have a soft 17 or lower, hit every time. When should you double down? If you have a 10 or 11, and the card the dealer is showing is lower than your total, it’s time to double! The last basic strategy item is the split. If you have a pair of 8’s or aces, it makes sense to split. If the dealer has 7 or less, and you have a pair of 7’s that’s another great time to split. The whole idea behind this strategy is the dealer’s 17 point limit. If they have 17 or more than that, they have to stand. The dealer is also not allowed to double down or split.
